St. Louis Blues land Brandon Saad

The St. Louis Blues have landed arguably the biggest name left on the free agency market after Wednesday's flurry of deals. The team has announced a five-year contract with forward Brandon Saad.

This one comes a bit out of left field as it had been rumored that Saad was contemplating three offers, which were said to be from Colorado, Carolina and New Jersey. However, someone can always swoop in at the last minute with a better offer than any of the ones already received.

The 28-year-old winger is coming off of a contract that paid him an average of $6 million annually. Saad has been a very consistent points producer throughout his career, although he slipped a bit in the last two seasons due to injuries.
