The Vancouver Canucks are dipping their toes into the goaltending market less than one day after buying out Braden Hotlby. According to Kevin Weekes of ESPN, the Canucks have signed veteran goalie Jaroslav Halak to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million.

"**Breaking News** All signs point to Halak signing a 1 Yr Deal with @Canucks with a base of 1.5M + potential bonuses of 1.5 M as well." Weekes said in a tweet on Wednesday.

Halak, 36, played in 19 games for the Boston Bruins during the 2020-21 season. He had a record of 9-6-4 with a 2.53 G.A.A., a .905 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Meanwhile, the Canucks have also decided to bring back Brandon Sutter on a one-year agreement worth $1 million. The forward has been with Vancouver since 2015.
