Aaron Rodgers may not be done from the NFL just yet, as the future Hall of Famer quarterback has just been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The New York Jets have parted ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and the four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer has emerged as a potential target for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers, an 18-year Green Bay Packer prior to being traded to the Jets in April of 2023, saw his initial season cut short after tearing his ACL just four snaps into Week 1. He returned in 2024 but could not turn things around for New York.

In spite of high hopes, the Jets finished with a dismal 5-12 season, extending their playoff drought to 14 years. Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in his lone full season with the team.

By releasing the 41-year-old as a post-June 1 cut, the Jets will take on $49 million in dead cap.

Pittsburgh is the favorite to land Rodgers

Pittsburgh has been the team most linked with Rodgers this offseason, as they do require a quarterback. Whether they'll actually go after him is uncertain, however, as they're also weighing their options with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson.

Not all of the Steelers locker room seems to be in favor of bringing in Rodgers, something safety DeShon Elliott made clear on Instagram this week. However, as per the betting odds, the Stellers are officially the favorites to land him.

Football fans will be keeping their eyes and ears peeled over the coming days and weeks to see where exactly Rodgers ends up.
