Team USA Adds Superstar Quinn Hughes to Roster After Charlie McAvoy Injury
Team USA has officially added the superstar Quinn Hughes to their roster after the injury to Charlie McAvoy, according to head coach Mike Sullivan.
Earlier this morning, the Boston Bruins organization confirmed that their star defenseman Charlie McAvoy would miss the finals of the 4 Nations Face-Off against Canada due to an injury:
Charlie was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday to undergo testing related to an upper-body injury sustained during the 4 Nations Face-Off and is currently being evaluated by Boston Bruins Head Team Physician Dr. Peter Asnis.
He will not play for Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off Championship Game on Thursday at TD Garden. The Boston Bruins will provide further updates on his condition and status as soon as they become available."
In breaking news, Team USA's head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed that Quinn Hughes, the Vancouver Canucks' captain, will join the team at the TD Garden.
Quinn Hughes was among Team USA's original roster, but had to forfeit due to health concerns.
He missed the Vancouver Canucks' last games before the tournament with an injury. At the time, Rick Tocchet, head coach of the Canucks and Canada's assistant coach in the 4 Nations Face-Off, stated that Hughes wanted to play for his country alongside his brother, but understood what was at stake for his team.
