The Vancouver Canucks are not out of the woods yet despite trading JT Miller as they still have several hurdles to overcome.

Many fans of the Canucks were probably anticipating that the drama and chaos around the team would calm down after they traded either JT Miller or Elias Pettersson.

Well, the team did exactly that on Friday when Miller was moved to the New York Rangers.

Instead of things calming down though, they only got even more chaotic.

The Canucks turned around and immediately made another deal, acquiring two veterans from the Pittsburgh Penguins using the 1st round draft pick they got in the Miller deal to make it work.

Now, the team must focus on making a push for the playoffs as they are very much in danger of missing out if things to do not improve quickly.

Unfortunately for them, the team may be at a big disadvantage tonight as captain Quinn Hughes is listed as a game-time decision after suffering a minor injury in their last game against the Dallas Stars.

Furthermore, the team will be incorporating several new players all at once which can be difficult at first as they have to learn a new system on the fly.

Filip Chytil, Drew O'Connor, Marcus Pettersson, and Victor Mancini are all expected to make the Canucks debuts tonight against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Canucks are currently in 5th place in the Pacific Division and sit one point back of the Calgary Flames for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.

With 31 games left on the team's schedule and just a few weeks left until the trade deadline, this is now the most important stretch of the season for the team.

Be sure to follow the Canucks as they attempt to get back into the playoffs.
