After months of poor play, the Pittsburgh Penguins have reached a breaking point with goaltender Tristan Jarry, putting him on waivers.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are doing what many fans have been calling for for some time.

GM Kyle Dubas has announced that goaltender Tristan Jarry will be placed on waivers this afternoon, making him available to any team that wants to take him.

Tristian Jarry is currently on year two of a five year deal worth $5.38 million per season, which means there likely won't be teams lining up to take him, even if nothing has to go the other way.

The breaking point for Pittsburgh GM Kyle Dubas seemed to come after last night's game against the Seattle Kraken, where Jarry let in three goals on 17 shots for a dismal .824 save percentage.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have faced plenty of turmoil lately even if you don't count the losing. Evgeni Malkinhas had his three Stanley Cup rings stolen during a break in at his home.

Meanwhile, Michael Bunting was recently involved in a car accident.

Jarry's NHL stats page shows he's started 22 games for the Penguins this season, winning just 8 of them.

Jarry's save percentage overall this season is .886, while his goals against average is 3.31.

If Jarry clears waivers, he'll be sent to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL. He played five games for the team earlier this season on a conditioning stint, going 4-1-0.
