It seems only a matter of time until Vancouver move Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller, and now a potential trade target has emerged for the team in New York.

Over the past few weeks, the drama in Vancouver has continued to escalate, with speculation that the team will move either Elias Pettersson or J.T. Miller so that the entire organization can move on from the situation.

This speculation comes after details of a failed Pettersson deal earlier in 2024 were leaked, and now, it could be just a matter of time until they move one of their top centres.

Now, a report has emerged of Vancouver's top trade target this season, with the team zeroing in on Noah Dobson of the New York Islanders, with speculation that a one-for-one deal could be made at some point this season.

A potential deal would solve a major issue for both squads, as it would give New York their 1C of the future that can drive the offensive play for the team, while Vancouver would get depth on their blue line that is much needed with the current injuries to Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek.

It's unclear at this point whether or not the two sides have had any discussions at all about Dobson and whether or not Pettersson would be the one involved in trade talks with New York, but on paper, it's a trade that could be a win-win for both teams.

With the Islanders slipping out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs race and Vancouver needing to move one of their top stars if they are to get past the drama, it's a match made in heaven, so now we will wait and see what it would take to get a blockbuster deal done.
