The Ottawa Senators' head coach Travis Green shared an update on Linus Ullmark after the goalie left last night's game against the Edmonton Oilers with an injury.

Linus Ullmark and the Ottawa Senators were in Edmonton last night to face the Oilers.

Unfortunately for the Senators, their six-game winning streak ended, as the Oilers won 3-1.

The results could've been different if the Sens had been able to count on their number one goalie Linus Ullmark for the whole game.

Indeed, after the first period, Ullmark left the game with an injury and was replaced by Leevi Merilainen, who managed to stop 12 out of the 14 shots fired toward his net.

After the game, Travis Green was asked to provide details on the goalie's health, saying Ullmark's back tightened up:

"His back tightened up so he felt it was best if he came out."

The Senators aren't set to play their next game until the end of the week, giving Ullmark some valuable days off to recover from that injury.

Ottawa sure hopes to be able to count on Ullmark by then as they're set to face the Winnipeg Jets, arguably one of the best teams in the NHL right now.

Currently fifth in the Atlantic Division, the Sens have an 18-14-2 record, tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning at 38 points.

Ullmark played an important role in the team's recent success, logging a 2.38 goals against average and a .915 save percentage with the Sens this season.

He's been especially great in the past seven games, getting two shutouts and scoring an assist:

If the Swedish goalie can remain healthy, he could help the Senators clinch their first playoff berth since 2017.
