Controversial Former NHLer Tony DeAngelo Comments on a Possible Return to the League

If you've followed the saga of Tony DeAngelo over the years, his decision to sign a one-year deal in the KHL for the 2024-25 season likely didn't come as a big surprise.
Tony DeAngelo's on and off ice NHL career was filled with controversies, and it got to a point where no NHL team was willing to offer him a contract.
The 29-year-old defenseman is tearing up the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg this season, with four goals and 24 points in 23 games with a team that looks poised to be a major player in the battle for the Gagarin Cup.
DeAngelo seems quite happy where he is at the moment, but but in an interview with the New York Post, he said he would be willing to come back to the NHL at any time.
DeAngelo added that SKA St. Petersburg is taking very good care of him.
DeAngelo recently took to his X account to discuss his departure from the New York Rangers, which was a major turning point in his eventual departure from the NHL. He told another user that he has no hard feeling, but insists the team mishandled the situation.
There never been much question over DeAngelo's offensive talent on the ice. During his time with the Philadelphia Flyers, coach John Tortorella was critical of his defensive abilities, with DeAngelo noting his departure from the Flyers had a lot to do with clashes over Tortorella's coaching style.
