Jacob Trouba was forced into a trade on Friday, and while he finally accepted a deal to the Ducks, he refused to waive his no-trade clause for any Canadian teams.

Following weeks of speculation, the New York Rangers got aggressive on Friday, officially trading captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks as part of a major salary cap dump.

We would later learn that the former captain refused a trade to the Columbus Blue Jackets, opting for sunny California over Ohio, but now we know that's not the only time he flexed his modified no-trade clause.

Now, according to Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch, Trouba categorically denied any trade to any of the seven Canadian teams, with the 30-year old blue liner not wanting to return to Canada.

This comes after he was drafted No. 9 overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 2012, spending the first seven years of his career North of the border, but wanting to keep his family in the United States without having to go through the hassle of moving them, he denied any trade to them.

It's not been revealed exactly why he didn't want to return to Canada, but ultimately the Ducks had a solid offer on the table, and with New York clearly wanting to clear space to get more cap space, this move was the one that ended up making the most sense.

This comes on the back of reported interest from Winnipeg and Ottawa in the hours before he was ultimately traded, and while adding Trouba wouldn't be that big of a positive for either team, it certainly would have shaken things up.

Ultimately, Trouba was nothing more than a cap dump for the Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers, with most buyers in Canada looking for players that can help them win now, so this may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for any of those interested teams.
