Mike Legg never suited up for a single NHL game, but he did change the game of hockey forever. The former University of Michigan hockey player was the first person to ever pull off a lacrosse-style goal during a game. Legg scored the legendary goal to tie an NCAA tournament matchup versus the University of Minnesota.

Now, EA Sports has announced that he will be added to ‘NHL 21' as a playable character.

Legg remembers that he was a little bit scared of what his coach would have to say as he was skating back to the bench.

"I was scared going to the bench with coach Berenson there and seeing his reaction to if that was acceptable or not," Legg said in the video. "He just kind of gave a little shake and a little smirk and off we went."

The goal was added to the game after Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov managed to pull off the move twice last season. Filip Forsberg also scored using “The Michigan” during last season.

Legg was extremely surprised when EA Sports reached out to him to tell him that he would be added to the popular video game franchise.

"Come on," Legg said with a chuckle when showed the digital version of himself scoring the famous goal. "I'm humbled by it. That is cool. It's unbelievable. Unbelievable. I can't believe it."
