J.T. Miller had an immediate impact in returning to the New York Rangers. A little less than a day removed from having been traded, Miller scored twice in Saturday's 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Boston Bruins.
Back in the city in which his NHL career began, 31-year-old winger Miller is relieved to have an opportunity to make a new beginning in New York. He feels a lot about the potential of the group and is positive that they can make a run at a playoff position.
Not one to make a new player sit, head coach Peter Laviolette inserted Miller into a big role immediately. He played 18:48 of ice and sat in a top unit on a big power-play chance.
Miller played between Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad for most of Saturday's game and will receive even more ice in the near future, according to observers, as he continues to settle in.
