In early September, the Edmonton Oilers loaned defensive prospect Evan Bouchard to Sodertalje SK in the Swedish second division, the HockeyAllsvenskan. It appears that the loan is working out quite well for Bouchard, in 16 games, he's recorded 11 points (4 G, 7 A), 54 penalty minutes, and is a -3. Sodertalje SK currently sits third in the standings with seven wins, five losses, and four overtime/shootout losses.

Bouchard, 21, was drafted in the first round, tenth overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2018 NHL entry draft. He played his first full year of pro during the 2019-20 season with the Oilers AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors. In 54 games, he tallied 36 points (7 G, 29 A), 42 penalty minutes, and was a -10. During the 2018-19 season, Bouchard made his NHL debut, and played in seven games before returning to the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League. In seven games, he had 1 point (1 G), 2 penalty minutes, and was a -5.

During his time with the London Knights, Bouchard won an OHL championship during the 2015-16 season, and the 2016 Memorial Cup. In 223 regular season OHL games, he had 201 points (54 G, 147 A), 142 penalty minutes, and was a +96. In 39 playoff games, Bouchard put up 35 points (8 G, 27 A), 20 penalty minutes, and was a +6.

Internationally, Bouchard has represented Canada on a couple occasions, most recently at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships where he was named an alternate captain. In 5 games, he had 3 points (3 A), 0 penalty minutes, and was a +6 as Canada placed sixth following a loss to Finland in the quarter-final.
