The New York Islanders have announced that Ryan Pulock has agreed to terms on a two-year deal. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the average annual value is $5 million.

Pulock, 26, scored 35 points (10 goals, 25 assists) in 68 games with the Islanders last season, his third full year in the NHL. He added 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games, while posting a team-high 22:42 TOI per game, as the Islanders advanced to the Eastern Conference Final.

The Islanders selected Pulock in the first round (15th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. The Dauphin, MB, native has led team defensemen in scoring in each of the past two seasons and has 108 points (31 goals, 77 assists) in 234 career games.

With this signing, the Islanders now have just about $3.9-million in cap space and a second buyout window opening in 48 hours. Only players with AAVs over $4-million can be bought out. They also must have been members of the Islanders roster before the trade deadline last February.

Pulock had an arbitration hearing scheduled to take place this coming Friday. That hearing, of course, is no longer needed. Pulock will be an unrestricted free agent when this new deal expires.
