Flames re-sign Andrew Mangiapane

The Calgary Flames have re-signed restricted free agent forward Andrew Mangiapane to a two year contract worth $4.85 million dollars ($2.425 million AAV).

Mangiapane, 24, was drafted in the sixth round, 166th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2015 NHL entry draft. In 122 regular season games, he's put up 45 points (25 G, 20 A), 32 penalty minutes, and is a +12. In 15 career playoff games, he has 6 points (3 G, 3 A), 6 penalty minutes, and is a -1.

During the 2019-20 season, Mangiapane had a career year, putting up 32 points (17 G, 15 A) in 68 games, and in the playoffs he had 5 points (2 G, 3 A), in 10 games.

Prior to joining the the Flames, he spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Barrie Colts. He attended the Colts training camp in 2013 and made the roster as an undrafted free agent. In 195 games, Mangiapane had 261 points (118 G, 143 A), 132 penalty minutes, and was a +83. He sits fifth all time in points, and fourth all time in goals in Barrie Colts franchise history.
