"We're thrilled to have come to an agreement with Evgenii, he's an elite offensive talent and a very consistent scorer as demonstrated by his point totals over the last three seasons. This is a key signing for us as it adds a player who will help us produce offensively and one with a proven track record on the power-play." Pierre Dorion said regarding the signing today.

Dadonov, 31, was drafted in the third round, 71st overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2007 NHL entry draft. In 280 regular season games, he's put up 202 points (91 G, 111 A), 42 penalty minutes, and is a -8. In 4 career playoff games, he has 1 point (1 A), 2 penalty minutes, and is a +1.
Internationally, Dadonov has represented Russia on many occasions, most recently at the 2019 IIHF Men's World Hockey Championships. In 10 games, he had 11 points (7 G, 4 A), 0 penalty minutes and was a +3 as they finished third, winning the bronze medal by defeating the Czech Republic 3-2 in a shootout.
This a very good signing for Ottawa, adding a player of Dadonov's caliber, and his goal scoring ability to a lineup desperate for goals is big. Dadonov has scored at least 25 goals in each of the last three seasons since returning to North America following a 5-year stint in the KHL.
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, he believes the Senators aren't done making moves this off-season. Following the Dadonov signing, Ottawa currently has $21.4 million dollars in available cap space, so it's very likely they go out and spend more prior to the start of the 2020-21 NHL season.
