Per TSN's Darren Dreger, the Columbus Blue Jackets have signed restricted free agent forward Max Domi to a two-year extension with an average annual value of $5.3 million.

Domi, 25, was acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. While he was a pending restricted free agent, it didn't take him long at all to get a deal worked out with his new team.

While Domi had somewhat of a down year posting 44 points in 71 games. However, just the season prior, his first with the Habs, he set career highs with 28 goals and 72 points. Due to his offensive abilities, many have questioned Habs general manager Marc Bergevin over yesterday's trade, which saw Domi along with a third-round pick get moved out for power forward Josh Anderson. While Anderson does help address the Canadiens' need to get bigger, he posted just four points in an injury riddled 26-game campaign last season.
