The Ottawa Senators announced Monday morning that they have signed defenceman Josh Brown to a two-year contract. The deal will pay him $1 million for the 2020-21 season and $1.4 million in 2021-22.

Brown, 26, was recently acquired by the Ottawa Senators in a trade with the Florida Panthers, with a fourth-round pick at this year's upcoming draft being sent the other way. Brown appeared in 56 games with the Panthers this past season, posting three goals and eight points in 56 games. He also appeared in 37 games the season prior, his first stint as an NHLer, scoring a goal and adding one helper.

The six-foot-five defenceman was selected in the sixth round (152nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, he spent two more seasons in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals. He has since played in 170 AHL games over the span of four seasons, putting up 27 points and 204 penalty minutes.
