After a fantastic season in 2017-18 in which he put up 65 points, things have not gone well for Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere over the last couple of years. And, after dozens of trade rumours over those past couple of seasons, we now have word that Philly is officially willing to move him.

"Shayne Gostisbehere is available for trade, multiple sources around the league told me over the weekend," wrote TSN's Pierre LeBrun in an article for The Athletic. "Which isn't totally shocking, but what's funny in a way that for all the trade rumours linked to him in the past, this is really the first time the Flyers have shown a serious willingness to move him if they get the right offer."

Gostisbehere has three years left on his current deal at a $4.5 million cap hit. However, LeBrun states the actual cash payout is around $3.25 million per season as the contract was front-loaded. This will make Gostisbehere attractive to teams around the NHL as many are looking to save money after losing millions in gate revenue during 2019-20, with the prospect of that happening again next season.

It's difficult to argue with LeBrun's assessment that Gostisbehere "screams change of scenery." Since his career high of 65 points in 2017-18, he had 37 in 2018-19 and just 12 this past season, although he played just 42 games. Gostisbehere, 27, also found himself in the press box as a healthy scratch a few times.
