Philadelphia Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher announced Friday afternoon that the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Alex Lyon on a one-year contract worth $700,000.

Lyon, 27, appeared in three games with the Flyers during the 2019-20 season, posting a 3.55 goals against average (GAA) and a .890 save percentage (SV%) along with a 1-1 record. He also appeared in 32 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, where he put up a 2.69 GAA and a .913 SV%. He has played in 16 career NHL games, compiling a 3.15 GAA along with a .893 SV%.

The undrafted netminder has spent the last four seasons in the Flyers organization after being signed as a free agent from Yale University. While he isn't a star by any means, he will continue to provide the team with some depth.
