The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced that Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman has been suspended for one game for delivering a hit to Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers in Tuesday's 3-1 loss against Winnipeg.

With 8:30 left in the game Hartman laid an open-ice check on Ehlers after playing the puck, with Ehlers leaving the ice holding the back of his head and didn't return to the game. Hartman received two minor penalties on the hit, one for interference on Ehlers and one for roughing after the play.

The 28 year old Hartman has been suspended once previously in 2018 when he was playing for the Nashville Predators.

Minnesota are locked into third place in the Central with one final game remaining against the Nashville Predators on Thursday.
