The Detroit Red Wings veteran defenseman Justin Holl hit rock bottom as he was placed on NHL waivers by his organization.

Among other teams, the Detroit Red Wings announced on Sunday afternoon that they placed five players on NHL waivers, including Justin Holl.
Holl finds himself alongside William Lagesson, Brogan Rafferty, Joe Snively and Sheldon Dries to be available for the 31 other teams.
Holl played in 323 NHL games since he was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019. He ended up playing six seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and joined the Detroit Red Wings with a three-year contract valued at $3.4 million AAV in 2023. Last season, he scored five points with the Red Wings, all assists, in 38 games.
It'll be interesting to see if the player ends up clearing the waivers or not.
Across the NHL, a total of 54 players hit the waiver wire. The Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning were among the teams to put players on waivers.
Notably, veteran goalies James Reimer and Matt Murray are available, while interesting prospects Raphael Lavoie, Jakob Pelletier or Marshall Rifai could all change teams.
