Earlier today, the Minnesota Wild released a statement addressing the injury to forward prospect Mason Shaw. Unfortunately, being only 24 years old with 62 games played, the injury is severe enough that it could possibly be the end of his career.

As per the Minnesota Wild's report, Shaw tore his anterior cruciate ligament in their most recent game against the Golden Knights. That particular ligament is absolutely crucial to skating, and rehabilitation can be extremely difficult.
Shaw was drafted in the fourth round by the Wild in the 2017 draft, and was excelling in a depth role for the team, embodying the persistence of the team identity. In 59 games this year, Shaw has 7 goals and 17 points, with 79 penalty minutes to boot.
It's a devastating injury for a young player trying to make his way into the league. What makes this injury so devastating is the fact that Shaw has torn the same ACL on 3 other occasions. This injury is a real blow to what looked to be a promising career.
Hopefully Shaw's able to recover and rehabilitate fully, and able to continue what becomes a long NHL career.
