Cedric Pare hasn't had the best start to the 2024/25 season, and after making headlines as a Maple Leaf, he's now taking beatdowns as a Marlie too.

This pre-season has seen many positive highlights for the NHL, but unfortunately there's been some bad moments too, with the incident involving Cedric Pare and Patrik Laine certainly at the top of that list. While the Canadiens forward came out and said he didn't blame Pare for the hit, it certainly brought plenty of hate upon him, and now, it appears he may have a massive target on his back.

In Pare's first AHL game of the year with the Toronto Marlies, he was quickly targeted by Belleville Senators forward Djibril Toure, who, after some pushing and shoving, quickly dispatched of Pare in dominant fashion.

Despite not being too physically outmatched, Pare was dominated in this fight, with Toure landing a couple of quick overhand punches that took the Maple Leafs forward to the ice, quickly ending the fight before it could truly get started. It's unclear if this had anything to do with what Pare did during the pre-season, or if it was purely about the pushing and shoving that occurred during the game, but from the outside looking it, it appears as though he now has a target on his back.

The next few weeks will now reveal whether or not Pare has become as hated among his opponents as he has among opposing fan bases, and when the team do battle with the Laval Rocket, it will certainly answer plenty of questions.
