On March 26th the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Nashville Predators. With the Predators looking to make a late surge for the playoffs, the team was doing everything in their power to get the victory. That includes putting their body on the line to get in front of as many shots as possible.

Unfortunately for Matt Duchene that sacrifice came at a heavy cost after blocking a shot. After blocking a shot Duchene took off his glove and headed towards the bench. When Duchene eventually looked into his glove the tip of his finger remained inside.

Duchene, 32, hasn't played a game for the Predators since this injury. The Predators currently sit 5 points out of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. There hasn't been much information provided about whether Duchene will play again this season, but at this point it appears unlikely.
This is just another example of how tough hockey players truly are.
