According to Marco Tirabassi of CHGO Sports, the Chicago Blackhawks have placed forward Joey Anderson on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.

Anderson, 24, was acquired by the Blackhawks in late-February from the Maple Leafs in a deal that saw Toronto receive Jake McCabe and Sam Lafferty.

The Roseville (Illinois) native has appeared in 32 games between the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs this season, recording eight points (five goals, three assists), zero penalty minutes and is a minus-six.

If Anderson clears waivers at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, he'll be assigned to the Rockford IceHogs to help with their push for a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
