According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, New Jersey Devils defenceman Scott Harrington and Buffalo Sabres goaltender Michael Houser have been placed on waivers for the purpose of AHL assignment.

Harrington, 29, was acquired by the New Jersey Devils on Sunday night in the Timo Meier deal. He signed with the San Jose Sharks during training camp in September after a successful professional tryout contract (PTO).

In 28 games for the Sharks this season, the Kingston (Ontario) native had seven points (one goal, six assists), eight penalty minutes and was a minus-seven.

Houser, 30, has been with the Buffalo Sabres organization for the past few years now and has played in four games for the big club in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.

This season, the Youngstown (Ohio) native has appeared in 14 games for Buffalo's AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, where he has a 6-5-1 record, a 2.95 GAA and a .903 save percentage.
