There's no question goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been a huge factor in the New York Rangers' 2021-22 playoff run so far. Shesterkin has played phenomenally between the pipes, giving the Rangers at least a chance to win pretty much every game. During game three of the Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning Sunday, it seems the Bolts were trying to get Shesterkin off his game, and it didn't go unnoticed.

Rangers' head coach Gerard Gallant believes Tampa Bay's strategy was to crowd Shesterkin as much as possible, and he didn't like it.

"It fazes me more than him. I don't like it, I don't think it's a big part of it," said Gallant. "Hopefully, when we talk to the supervisor tomorrow, they'll take care of some of that because It wasn't right."

Gallant was referring to the supervising referee for the series.

Crowding the net is anything but a new strategy in the NHL. Blocking a netminder's vision and movement is as old as the game of hockey itself. At one point, it appeared that Corey Perry hit Shesterkin in the mask with his stick. While it was little more than a tap. Shesterkin went down like he'd been struck by a car.
