It's a sign that New York Rangers prospect and former first-round pick Vitali Kravtsov is ready to finally try to make it in North America. The general manager of the KHL's Traktor Chelyabinsk has confirmed that an extension offer was presented to Kravtsov recently, but it was outright rejected.

«Vitaly Kravtsov did not accept the offer of the club, he did not explain the reasons for the refusal. Although we made an offer in full accordance with his requirements," said Ivan Savin

"The rights to Kravtzov in the KHL remain with Traktor," continued Savin. "Apparently, Kravtsov decided to go overseas to play. But I think that he needs to spend a full season at Traktor and then go to the NHL."

Kravtzov, drafted ninth overall in 2018, spent parts of the 2019-20 season with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers AHL affiliate. According to reports, he was not happy playing in the minors and decided to go back to Russia. In 2020-21, Kravtzov played 20 games with New York, but his four points (2G, 2A) weren't enough to keep him in the lineup, and he was sent back to the AHL. At that point, Kravtzov decided to head back to Russia and Traktor once again.

Kravtzov, 22, took part 19 games with Traktor last season, recording six goals and 13 points. He played another 15 games in the playoffs, netting seven goals and 10 points.
