Early on in Saturday's Game 3 between the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers, Evander Kane cross checked Nazem Kadri into the boards from behind and received a five-minute major penalty on the play.

Kadri was forced to leave the game and did not return. He was reportedly seen wearing a cast on his right arm when leaving Rogers Place on Saturday night and Avs Head Coach Jared Bednar told reporters that Kadri is out for the remainder of the Western Conference Final, possibly longer.

Shortly after the hit, ex-NHL referee Tim Peel, who was fired for a 'hot mic' incident in March 2021, made a post on Twitter that simply said, 'Karma!'.

Twitter user Ricky Weimer was able to take a screenshot of the post before Peel took it down shortly after.

This is an extremely bad look for Tim Peel and a disgusting thing to tweet. Nazem Kadri has had some pretty dirty plays and cheap shots in the past, but regardless of that, no one should be celebrating a player getting injured.
