With the Hurricanes' elimination to the New York Rangers, comes the time of year when players clean out their lockers, coaches clear out their offices, & trainers pack it all up. Tee times & vacations get booked, injured players start their rehabilitations, and the entire show gets put on hold until training camp. While most pack it in, others get straight back to work. And you don't get a nickname like 'Rod the Bod' by simply taking days off.

Rod Brind'Amour was right back to work following the Canes' Game 7 defeat at the hands of the New York Rangers. A photo made its way to Twitter of RBA putting in work with his son, Skyler, who currently plays for Quinnipiac University in NCAA Division I.

Skyler Brind'Amour, drafted 177th overall by the Edmonton Oilers, has 44pts in 104 NCAA games for the Bobcats. While those totals don't leap off the page, the scouting report on the younger Brind'Amour is similar to Rod's; a defense-first center with a scoring touch. Overall, less skill than Rod, however.

Few understand the value of pure hard work like Brind'Amour, whose illustrious NHL career has long been attributed to an exceptional work ethic. And judging by the lack of vacations being had in the Brind'Amour household right now, it's quite evident that work ethic is being handed down. Will we see Skyler Brind'Amour signed to a contract in Edmonton?
