Alexander Radulov of the Dallas Stars is getting embroiled in a lawsuit back home. Radulov has filed a complaint with the court of arbitration in Russia against Sergei Kononov, the former owner of Transnational Bank in that country.

According to court documents, Radulov is seeking just over 254 million rubles in the case. At the moment, that's worth about $225,000 USD, although it would have been higher than that before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sanctions have led to the Russian ruble taking quite a drop on the world market.

In earlier reports it was stated that Radulov transferred a total of 1.5 billion rubles ($13 million USD) to Transnational Bank over the course of eight years. It was his salary for playing hockey in the NHL and KHL. Transnational's license to conduct banking operations was suspended in 2015 over alleged cases of fraud. It's not clear how much money Radulov lost in the transactions.

According to Sport24.ru, Kononov is suspected of laundering more than 6 billion Russian rubles ($52 million USD) during his ownership of Transnational. A criminal case has been launched.
