Over the past week, there has been plenty of speculation that the Toronto Maple Leafs are targeting J.T. Miller of the Vancouver Canucks as a potential trade deadline acquisition, and that speculation has picked up even more on Thursday.

The reason behind the rumor being discussed even more is the fact that Leafs assistant general manager, Laurence Gilman, was spotted at back-to-back Canucks games this past week. Given the Miller to Leafs chatter, started first by the highly credible Elliotte Friedman, it seems like this is a move Kyle Dubas is really hoping to make happen. Adding the 28-year-old would make an already dangerous offense that much scarier for opposing teams.

Miller, who has one additional year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $5.25 million, is having another great season for the Canucks with 20 goals and 60 points in 53 games, both of which lead his team. If he does indeed get traded ahead of the deadline, the Canucks should be able to get a major return.
