"How can anyone write an article about the top 10 candidates for the Hart this season and not include Jonathan Huberdeau in the list. 🤦♂️" said Walsh while retweeting the link to the article.
This caused Luszczyszyn to point out Walsh's bias on the issue, which, in turn, saw Walsh call Luszczyszyn an "embarrassment" and a "homer."
"Yes, I admit my bias. I'm open about it. Just read my mission statement. What's your excuse? Several great reporters working at @TheAthletic have text me that you're an embarrassment. #Homer," Walsh Tweeted.
Walsh apparently thinks that Huberdeau would have been on Luszczyszyn's list if he played for Toronto.
"If Matthews played for Florida and Huberdeau played for Toronto nothing in my article would changed," Luszczyszyn fired back. "But I got similar messages about you so i guess we're even."
That then led to this exchange:
ooooo a tweet from 2015 wowwwww amazing!!
i was wrong seven years ago! what does that have to do with what he's doing in 2022? lmao— dom at the athletic (@domluszczyszyn) March 3, 2022
Many of the replies to Walsh's Tweet point out that he can disagree with someone without taking it personally. Many also noted that Luszczyszyn's choice were based on analytical numbers, not personal choices. Honestly, Walsh always seems to have an issue with someone. It's one thing to stand up for your clients. It's another thing entirely to attack someone for leaving client off a list and accuse them of personal bias.

i appreciate you defending your client so vigorously
but i don't think that argument helps him at all on the deepest team in the league where he plays on the second line— dom at the athletic (@domluszczyszyn) March 3, 2022
