Mother of NHLer Who Tragically Passed Away Calls Out Gary Bettman for CTE Lies

Playing hockey comes with risks, especially when playing at a professional level. Players compete and hit hard, not holding back and doing everything they can to win.

Yesterday marked the sad anniversary of Derek Boogaard's death, a former NHL player who died at 28 years old after consuming alcohol and pills. However, it seems that the NHL also had a role to play in his death, as he suffered many concussions.

In an obituary to commemorate the anniversary of his death, his mother, Joanne Boogaard, called out the NHL.

Here's what she published in the Regina paper:

She believes that the NHL isn't honest about the real risks of playing in the league. Many studies show the long-term consequences of playing hockey, while Bettman chooses to put his head in the sand, as always.
