Yesterday evening, the Stars held on against the Golden Knights to stay alive in the playoffs. They'll have to beat Vegas three times in a row if they want to reach the next round.
The lucky winner will compete for the Stanley Cup against the Florida Panthers, who are currently enjoying some time off after sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes.
Even though the Conference Finals haven't concluded yet, there has been a new development about the next round.
Potential Finals Start Date Revealed
Frank Seravali reported on Twitter the potential dates for the first game of the finals. Of course, it all depends on what will happen in the series between Dallas and Vegas.
''#StanleyCup Final will begin:
May 31: If #VGK wins Game 5 on Saturday night.
June 3: If #TexasHockey wins Game 5.''
If the Golden Knights win the next game, we could see some Stanley Cup Finals action as soon as next Wednesday.
Starting on June 3rd would be a better idea anyway, for marketing reasons. But as we know, Gary Bettman isn't very good at making the right decisions.
