Tkachuk Comments on the Panthers' Decision to Break a Longstanding NHL Tradition

For the longest time, it was viewed as bad luck if a team touched the Prince of Wales trophy or the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl. If a team touched one of these trophies, it was thought that they would lose the Stanley Cup finals.

The Panthers touched the trophy breaking the tradition and arguable team MVP, Matthew Tkachuk decided to comment on it.

This modern and non-superstitious approach has been adopted by other teams like the Tampa Bay saying there is no reason to be superstitious.

With more and more teams adopting this method, maybe the long time tradition will finally die off after decades of being in style.
