With the Florida Panthers expected to be in on several big names leading up to the NHL's trade deadline on March 21st, they're preparing to give up some key assets, one of those being 2017 tenth overall pick Owen Tippett, according to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek.

"Owen Tippett is a stand-up person, always has been. I remember when he was drafted by the Florida Panthers and he was a wonderful young hockey player and was a great professional. But as the Florida Panthers are in all-in mode right now for the playoffs, they're in a lot of trade rumours as well and the one name that is coming up consistently, which the Panthers have put out as being available, is Owen Tippett," Marek said during the 32 Thoughts segment on Hockey Night in Canada.

Tippett, 22, has spent the last two seasons on the Florida Panthers roster full-time after playing in the OHL and AHL. In 39 games this season, the Peterborough, Ontario native has recorded thirteen points (five goals, eight assists), ten penalty minutes and is a plus-three.

There have been rumours that the Panthers have discussed a potential Jakob Chychrun trade with the Arizona Coyotes. The only thing that's holding the Panthers back is the ask from Arizona and it's been reported that they want rookie forward Anton Lundell, who Florida is reluctant to move. I wonder if the Panthers have asked the Coyotes if they're interested in Owen Tippett as part of a Chychrun trade.
