Buffalo Sabres head coach Don Granato announced on Thursday morning that defenceman Colin Miller and goaltender Malcolm Subban recently underwent surgery for their upper-body injuries.

Granato added that Colin Miller will be back in about six weeks, but didn't seem too positive when it came to Subban, saying that it's not likely he will play again this season.

"Per head coach Don Granato, Colin Miller has had surgery and will be out at least six weeks. Malcolm Subban had surgery and it is likely he will not be back this season," the Sabres said in a tweet on Thursday.

Buffalo has been decimated with injuries including four goaltenders out of the lineup. Craig Anderson is month-to-month with an upper-body injury, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, while Dustin Tokarski is out week-to-week due to COVID.

Other notable injuries include Casey Mittelstadt who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, Zemgus Girgensons who is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, and Kyle Okposo who is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

The Sabres are back in action on Thursday night when they host the Dallas Stars at 7pm ET.
