Earlier this season, it was reported that the Arizona Coyotes were gauging market interest on defenceman Jakob Chychrun, who is regarded as one of the better young defencemen in the NHL.

One team that is said to be interested is the Florida Panthers, who are an offensive juggernaut this season but could use another defenceman. While it would be intriguing to see him moved to the Panthers however, it may not happen, as Elliotte Friedman recently explained just how much they would have to part with to acquire the 23-year-old.

«You're probably looking at a Spencer Knight, Anton Lundell, and a first-round pick,» Friedman said on The Jeff Marek Show. «It sounds like a lot, and it is, but that's going to be the price for Chychrun.»

There is no denying that Chychrun is a great player who will only continue to get better, but that is likely way to big of a package for the Panthers to give up. Knight, who they took in the first-round of the 2019 draft, is their goalie of the future, while Anton Lundell was their first-round pick in 2020 and is having a very impressive rookie season. If the Coyotes are truly wanting to move Chychrun, they will have to lower their asking price.
