Struggling is nothing new for the Chicago Blackhawks in recent seasons, though one player they have been able to constantly rely on is Patrick Kane, who has still put up massive numbers in recent years.

While his 32 points in 32 games in 2021-22 would be a great year for most however, it is frustrating for the 33-year-old Kane who is capable of plenty more. He recently spoke with Tracey Myers about the down year, making it clear he is not happy with his production, and in particular his goal total of just seven.

«It's been probably one of the most frustrating years for me personally so far,» said Kane, who hasn't scored in 13 straight games. «So, you know, try to do what you can to get chances, and when you get those chances, try to capitalize. Obviously, there's been certain looks here or there, hitting posts (six, and one crossbar), but you try to get as many chances as possible and hopefully come through.»

The entire Blackhawks team is struggling, as they sit seventh in the Central Division through 36 games. It is disappointing given the changes they made in the offseason, changes that had many thinking they would become a playoff team once again. With playoffs well out of the picture now, it will be interesting to see what they decide to do this offseason.
