Tuukka Rask is officially back in Boston according to PuckPedia. The Bruins are signing Rask to a one-year contract worth $1 million, but because of when he signed, he'll actually only earn $545,000.

Rask, 34, became a free agent in late-July 2021 after having surgery on his hip to fix a torn labrum. He began his rehab several months later and skated at the Boston Bruins practice facility.

Last week, Rask signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with Boston's AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, in order to get some game action before the big club signed him. Unfortunately, COVID-19 got in the way of Rask playing games in AHL because Providence had a couple of games postponed.

This morning, Providence released Rask from his PTO, paving the way for him to sign with the Boston Bruins.

The Savonlinna, Finland native has played parts of fourteen seasons in the NHL, all with the Bruins. In 560 career games, Rask has a record of 306-163-66 with a 2.27 G.A.A., a .921 save percentage and 52 shutouts.
