During his media availability on Tuesday, Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland was asked about the team's approach to the upcoming trade deadline on March 21st.

Holland said that the Oilers won't be giving up their first round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft or any of their top prospects. Presumably he means that Philip Broberg, Dylan Holloway, Xavier Bourgault and Evan Bouchard are off the table in any upcoming negotiations.

He added, "I wouldn't do that. I think the answer's in our locker room."

Adding some depth never hurts but it's still a bit unclear who is and isn't available on most teams with 69 days until March 21st's trade deadline. Forward Evander Kane, who is currently a free agent, and Blackhawks defenceman Calvin De Haan could potentially be options for the Oilers.

The Oilers currently sixth in the Pacific Division with a record of 18-14-2 through 34 games. They'll be in action next on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.

As for calls for Dave Tippett to be fired as head coach, Holland indicated that won't be happening. He said the Oilers have had seven coaches in the last decade and you just can't keep replacing coaches.
