Late last night, the National Hockey League announced that it was going to postpone Tuesday's game between Carolina and Philadelphia due to COVID-related issues that the Flyers were dealing with. As of yesterday, the Flyers had five players in the league's protocol.

With the game being postponed and their plane not available until Tuesday night, the Carolina Hurricanes left their gear hung up in the locker room at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with the intent to practice on Tuesday morning.

Well, that didn't happen according to Luke DeCock of The News and Observer, a Carolina-based media outlet. In a tweet on Tuesday, DeCock said that Wells Fargo Center staff have already covered up the ice and set up the basketball flooring ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers game on Wednesday night.

"With game postponed at 10 pm, Hurricanes were planning to skate in Philadelphia today anyway since their gear was already hung and their plane wasn't available until evening, but apparently Wells Fargo Center covered the ice ahead of Wednesday's Sixers game. Fun trip!" DeCock said.

I think it's safe to say that there was a definite lack of communication in this situation between the Hurricanes and Wells Fargo Center staff.

The Hurricanes will be back in action on Thursday night when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
