Tuukka Rask will not be able to make his AHL season debut on January 7 as he was planned to. The American Hockey League announced that due to COVID-19 protocols affecting the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, that multiple games from the Providence Bruins have been rescheduled.
Friday, January 7's game has been rescheduled for Monday April 11, at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday, January 9's game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 19, at 7:05 p.m.
If for some reason the first game of the series got pushed back again, the team's next game wouldn't be until January 14 at home versus the Hartford Wolfpack.
Many fans have been anticipating the return of Rask to the Bruins, hoping that he can help save the team's season. Boston has not been bad by any means, but they currently sit in fourth in the NHL's Atlantic Division with a 17-10-2 record. Rask may bring in that veteran presence on the backend that the team needs.
Next game is Jan. 14 at home against Hartford, which is now theoretically when Rask's conditioning stint starts. https://t.co/i60aI0zYNR— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) January 6, 2022
