After missing the last two games with an upper-body injury, the Seattle Kraken have announced that forward Jaden Schwartz will undergo surgery on his hand. They added that Schwartz will miss four-to-six weeks.

"#SeaKraken forward Jaden Schwartz will have surgery on his hand. He is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks," the Kraken said via their public relations Twitter account.

Schwartz, 29, signed a five-year contract worth $27.5 million with the Kraken on the opening day of free agency. Just before the start of the season, Schwartz was named to Seattle's leadership group as an alternate captain.

In 29 games this season, the Wilcox, Saskatchewan native has twenty points (six goals, fourteen assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-twelve.
