According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the San Jose Sharks have placed Swedish forward Joel Kellman on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract buyout.

The 27-year-old has spent the entire 2021-22 season in the American Hockey League with the Sharks' affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda. In ten games with the Barracuda, Kellman had four points (one goal, three assists), eight penalty minutes, and was a minus-four.

Johan Svensson of Expressen.se is reporting that Kellman will be returning to Europe and that the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League are likely the front runners to sign him.

"SportExpressen has fully confirmed that Kellman will return to Europe. Sources have told us this evening that there is a possibility of Kellman signing with the Växjö Lakers," Svensson said.
