Dallas Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin is joining the Texas Stars of the AHL. After being put on waivers Monday by Dallas, Khudobin has cleared with no one willing to take on his contract right now.

There was some speculation that a team like the Buffalo Sabres or the Arizona Coyotes might look to snag the veteran netminder, but that didn't happen.

Khudobin is 3-3-1 with the Dallas Stars this season. He has a goals against average of 3.73 and a save percentage of .873. It appears Dallas will be going forward with the tandem of Braden Holtby and Jake Oettinger for the foreseeable future. There's still the possibility that Khudobin, 35, gets traded, if the Stars are willing to sweeten the pot. But, for now anyway, he's headed to the Stars' AHL affiliate. Khudobin has a cap hit of $3.3 million with this season and next left on his contract.
