We've seen kicking in hockey before, but this one was nowhere even close to subtle or accidental. In a game between Skelleftea and Rogle in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) Sunday, Oskar Nilsson delivered what appeared to be a hard kick to Adam Tambellini while the two were going after the puck. Check it out:

Nilsson, who is 30 and has spent his entire hockey career in Sweden, will sit for two games for the act. It appears the officials missed the kick when it happened as there was no penalty on the play. Tambellini, a former third round draft pick of the New York Rangers, was not seriously hurt on the play, although it could have went much differently. Tambellini, 27, has never played in the NHL but did spend four seasons in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack and Belleville Senators.
