There's a trade to tell you about in the NHL, although it is fairly minor. The Toronto Maple Leafs have decided to send forward Kurtis Gabriel to the Chicago Blackhawks. In return, the Leafs get defenceman Chad Krys.

Gabriel signed as a free agent with Toronto back in July. He has only played in the AHL this season. In 13 games with the Marlies, he has one goal and one assist.

As for Krys, the former second round pick has also been playing in the AHL this season. He has one assist in eight games. Krys, who was drafted back in 2016, has yet to play any games in the NHL.
